Inspiring! How foreigners give back to Nigerian orphans

– Hopes were given to children who
were rescued from possible death
In some suburb of the Federal Capital
Territory (FCT), Abuja, killing of twins
persist as the world watches.
A missionary home took this upon itself
to rescue these children from their
persecutors.
The children were said to be used for
sacrifice because they are supposedly
bad-luck. However, kids whose mother
died while breastfeeding is not spared
as they were either suffocated or
poisoned.
The Vine Heritage Home in Abuja spoke
in an interview that they are basically there
to help the children.

“Whenever a woman gives birth to a
twin, we get calls that we should come
and rescue them, moreover, before we
get there sometimes, they will be killed
and we will not be able to see these
children. We have also been lucky to
rescue some others living in this home.”
A group of women using fashion for
charity donated gifts to these children in
Abuja, the team also visited another
orphanage in the Kwali district of Abuja
as part of funds which was raised
during the Latiwa arts and fashion
show.
President of Latiwa projects, Latiwa
Amato – a Congolese told the press that
this is one of many other plans they have
for orphanages across the FCT.
“We raised fund from the fashion for
charity event to enable us help this
children, we are here to handover gifts
from funds raised, we also want to help
build schools and also assist them to do
many other things.
“It is so sad to see these children in this
situation, but they cannot help it, we are
here to do our best and ensure a great
medical care for them.”
